The Menus

I draw on my knowledge of the changing seasons and the produce available to me at the time of the event. I consider the occasion, whether it would be fun to offer a theme or something a little unusual or would tradition be more in keeping. Whatever the event, I try to avoid offering the same old dishes and believe by varying my menus my cooking stays fresh and of a high quality.

Then comes the design element;

Once a client has put in an enquiry I then contact them by phone or email to establish whether there are any special diets to consider or if they have particular likes or dislikes to incorporate into the meal.

Although bookings are made well in advance I try to predict the variables in the weather and consider whether guests will be in the mood for hearty fare or something light by then. There might be a range of age or culture to accommodate and I am always happy to work around special requests.

Once I have designed the menu, I email it across for the client’s consideration.

Please let me have details of your choices three weeks before the event. Do feel free to question or ask for changes to be made as the whole point is for you to get exactly the meal you and your guests want. Either phone to chat things over or contact me by Email.

Payment can be cash or cheques made out to Melissa Rees. I shall give you the bill at the end of the event.

What to expect

We arrive about an hour before the meal to lay the table and prepare. My waitress and I serve you and clear away each course. We go after offering you coffee, leaving the kitchen as we have found it. For small groups it will be just me.

Please could you make sure the dishwasher is emptied before we arrive.

Important

It is vital that you tell me of any food allergies or dietary requirements at the time of confirming your order. Any changes to numbers must be told to me no later than three days before the occasion.

Booze

Usually guests organise their own wine but I can do this for you if you would prefer.
